From February the 11th law changes will give further security of tenure to tenants.
Landlords will not be able to end a periodic tenancy without cause by providing 90 days notice. New termination grounds are specific and outlined on the tenancy website.
Landlords will not be able to give notice to vacate a fixed term tenancy nearing the end unless doing so under new termination grounds. Effectively it becomes the same as periodic tenancies.
The healthy homes bill will mean that landlords will have to compliant by July for new tenancies.
